‘One should strive to act with compassion and empathy towards all creatures’…
I’ve always found the Devil a much more interesting and rounded figure than God…God strikes me as an up his own ass dilettante whereas the Devil seems to me to be much more human and reliable figure. He’s also been the subject of ‘fake news’ atacks from the death cult merchants of the Abrahamic religions for millennia. Consequently, Satan has an entirely undeserved bad reputation….the picture that heads this article is, for example, a classic piece of Abrahamic death cult, anti-Satan propaganda — the Devil looks nothing like that, he does, in fact, cut a very dashing and debonair figure.
Don’t believe me?
Then take a look at this…every now and then you come across something that makes sit up and think ‘hmm…I wonder if everything I’ve been told since I was a kid is actually a total load of bullshit.’
I had one of those ‘hmm’ moments — a ‘lightbulb’ moment, if you like — the other day when I came across these 7 principles which, if we followed and abided by them, would, I genuinely believe, lead to a much, much better you and even a happier society than the dysfunctional and plain nasty one in which we now live; here we are…7 key rules for a better society:
— One should strive to act with compassion and empathy towards all creatures in accordance with reason.
— The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.
— One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.
— The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo your own.
— Beliefs should conform to our best scientific understanding of the world. We should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit our beliefs.
— People are fallible. If we make a mistake, we should do our best to rectify it and resolve any harm that may have been caused.
— Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.
Good aren’t they? To me they’re based on common sense, wisdom, care and empathy !
And these 7 principles are actually the Seven Tenets of the Satanic Temple. But…but….but…Satanism is bad, the Devil is evil, you should be a good follower of God. Yeh, right…I’ d much rather go with these 7 ‘satanic’ principles than that made up ‘ten commandments’ crap taken from an equally made up book that’s been used as an excuse for control and subjugation and racism and sexism and homophobia and genocide for over 2,000 years now by the loathsome hetero-patriarchy.
Hmm. Maybe it’s time to have another look at Satan….
